"You don't know him." Clare assured.

"Is he good to you?" Jake asked, his face turning serious.

"He's amazing. " Clare assured.

"Then I like him already." Jake whispered

Eli grabbed strawberries, vanilla ice cream and hot fudge sauce. He smiled, a plan forming in his head.

Clare laughed and looked up at him. "You want to go get a coffee or something?"

"The Dot?" He guessed.

"Obviously." She said.

Eli put the groceries in the car.

"Lead the way." Jake said.

Clare smiled and grabbed her bag. She walked beside him to The Dot.

Eli started Morty and started to drive home.

Clare opened the door for him as they both went in.
Jake looked around. "It's been redone." He noted

Eli pulled into his driveway.

Clare nodded and led him over to the counter. "It has." She said.

"That ugly old pictures gone." Jake said laughing, looking at the wall.

Eli grabbed the groceries. He walked in the house and shoved them in the fridge.

Clare nodded and order a regular coffee, as always. "What do you want?" She asked looking back at Jake.

"I'm good." He said and smiled warmly.

"You sure? I'm payingg." Clare said, urging him.

"I'm sure." Jake nodded.

Eli flipped open his phone and texted Clare.

Clare sat down with Jake and quickly checked her phone. She sent a reply quickly.

Then come to The Dot!! I want you to meet somebody.

"You get to meet my fiance!" She said and smiled.

Be there in a few.

He responded and walked back out to Morty.

"Yay! Has your brother done covered "the speech"?" Jake asked.
Clare looked down.

Eli started to drive to the Dot.

"Something wrong?" Jake asked, worried.
"After mom and dad died.... he blamed me for it. He wanted to make me feel the pain he felt from their loss. " Clare said

Eli parked and got out slowly, flipping his black hair out of his eyes so he could see in.

"He hurt you, didn't he?" Jake asked.
Clare just nodded, then she saw Eli. She smiled, her eyes lighting up.

Eli walked in. He saw Clare and smiled.

Clare smiled and pulled out the chair beside her. "C'mere!" She said.

"Hey, doll." He smirked and kissed her on the cheek before sitting down, he glanced at Jake.

Clare smiled and took his hand. "Jake this is my fiance, Eli. Eli this is my friend, Jake."

Jake nodded in greeting, studying him.

Eli smiled. "Its a pleasure to meet you." he nodded and looked at him, sizing him up in a way.

"Likewise." Jake said and forced a smile.

Clare noticed the tension and frowned.
