"Lets go to the Dot..I'll get you a coffee." Cassie offered a little too sweetly.

Eli shook his head. "No..I better be goin'.." He said and bit his lip.

"I don't mind. You want me to drive you?" He asked.
Clare nodded

"Can I walk with you at least? We need to catch up." She begged. Eli nodded. "Fine."

Clare followed him to his truck and got in, obviously tired.
Jake frowned and started the truck.

Cassie put her arm in his and walked with him, chattering about everything. Eli sighed and focused on getting home.

Clare barely breathed, closing her eyes.
"You ok?" Jake asked.
"I'm fine." She answered

"Eli..." Cassie asked seeing him.
"Hmm?" Eli asked glancing down at her.
"I missed you ,Eli." Cassie said softly, trying to look innocent.
Eli nodded, her words like knives into his soul.

"Are you sure? Is everything OK between Eli and you?" Jake persisted.
"It's fine."

Cassie took Eli's hand. Eli shool his head taking his hand out of hers.
"Stop." He said looking away.
"What? I thought..." Cassie trailed.
Eli sighed. "Cassie, I have a finace...you can't.."
Cassie frowned. "Finace?"

"Ok." Jake gave up and stopped.

Eli nodded. "Listen, I don't know what you want from me but, I don't like you.." He said honestly.

Cassie looked down.

Clare hugged him. "Thanks for driving me home."

They were about 10 minutes from his house.
"I thought...we had feelings." Cassie mummbled looking at him.
"In your mind, only." He replied.

Flashback
Dear Sierra,

It's been exactly 2 months since she left me. I remember the day like it was yestderday. I don't know why but, Cassie has been acting real strange lately. She's always wanting to be close to me. Maybe she's just taking the death hard. I'm meeting her for dinner tonight...maybe we can clear things up.

Clare smiled and got out slowly.

Cassie became mad...very mad. Whoever she is, she can't be any better than me! Eli knows he lives ME not her!

Eli looked at her briefly then continued to walk.

She walked inside and called for him, wondering where he was.

The house was now in sight. "Can I come inside?" Cassie asked.
"Not today." Eli said walking faster.

Clare shrugged, figuring he was with Adam somewhere. She walked upstairs and took her heels off

Cassie looked down. "I guess I'll see ya later." she said once they got to his door .Eli nodded as she hugged him tightly. Once she let go, Eli walked inside. "Doll?" He called wondering if Clare was home.

"Up here!" She called, taking out her earrings.

Eli walked up to her.

She smiled lightly when she saw him. "Hey."

"Hey." he said and smiled.

"Where did you run off too?' she asked.

"I went for a walk.." He started. "Then I saw an old friend so we talked." He said.
